Signal 1’s Little Hero
Congratulations to 12 year old Georgy Capener from Crewe who is Signal 1 with The Potteries Centres Little Hero.
Helen, Georgy’s mum wrote “Georgy really is a little hero, he was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare bone cancer in 2018. He has had most of his entire right arm taken away and replaced with a titanium prosthesis and has endured three years of living with cancer now.
Unfortunately his cancer returned for the second time in May 2020. This boy is my absolute hero as he never moans, he wakes up with a smile on his face every morning and still manages to make us laugh every single day, despite all that he has going on.
Georgy also loves to help fundraise for others. So far he has fundraised for bone cancer research trust by doing an Xbox 12 hour streaming session and he has also fundraised by doing a 24 hour Xbox streaming session to raise 1000 for his friend Sally (who sadly lost her battle to Ewing’s earlier this year) and gave it to Sally’s sister to cheer her up after losing her sister. This boy is remarkable and always thinking of others”.
We’ve team up with Signal 1 to look for Staffordshire and Cheshire’s “Little Hero”.
It might be someone who helps out in their community, someone who has had an amazing achievement or someone who has shown real courage and bravery during tough times.
We could be giving them the recognition they deserve and rewarding them with a £250 voucher!
